Support the exchange of ideas, programs, and experience of the members concerning fisheries science, aquaculture, and water resources. Organize and support technical forums relating to fisheries and aquatic resources. Collect and disseminate fisheries-related information to the membership and other interested parties. Develop public awareness regarding fisheries and aquatic resource issues. Promote professional advancement of outstanding students with financial assistance through a scholarship fund. The ALAFS is incorporated as a non-profit educational organization and has tax-exempt status with the Internal Revenue Service. Donations are tax deductible.
